Sculpture Artist Process

I think this sculpture project went well enough. I'm not entirely sure the face looks like me--the eyes are off somehow. However, I do think everything is technically correct, so at least it looks like someone's face.
I think my favorite part of the whole process was the hair. I would've enjoyed it more if I had more time, though, but I really enjoyed the tedium of it. I'd roll out a length of clay, score and slip the head, and then attach it on. Once I was done with all that, I use the back of one of the scooping-type tools to press in a sort-of alternating braid pattern. It took a couple different methods to get to where I wanted, but it looked realistic in the end.
I wish I had more time to make the rest of my hair not look like a blob. I'm also realizing now that I forgot my eyebrows, so I suppose I'll have to carve them in at some point. Maybe after it's bone dry like a sgraffito sculpture. I also neglected to smooth out my shoulders. It is what it is, I'll scrape it off when it's dry.
